On February 23rd 2008, Global Transit took a leap forward into the international arena. Together with Google and 4 other international carriers, Global Transit became part of a consortium that is building an undersea cable from Japan to the United States, named Unity. This Trans-Pacific cable will carry capacity of up to 7.68 Terabits per second when completed. The other consortium members include Bharti Airtel of India, KDDI of Japan. Pacnet of Hong Kong and SingTel of Singapore.
